San Antonio’s Master Electrician-Founded Team for Tesla Wall Connector Installation
Absolute Power Electrical Contractors has handled residential electrical work across San Antonio since 2005. Founder George Salinas passed the Master Electrician Exam in May 2005 and holds a Texas Electrical Contractor license. That credential matters for Tesla Wall Connector installation: the job involves a dedicated 240-volt circuit, panel assessment, permitting with Bexar County, and sometimes a full panel upgrade. We handle every part of that scope in-house, with a team of more than 50 trained professionals and no outside contractors.
We’re family-owned, carry an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, and hold a 5.0 average on Angi’s List. Free estimates are available before any work begins.
The Tesla Wall Connector is the Level 2 home charger Tesla recommends for its vehicles. Running at full speed, it requires a dedicated 60-amp circuit breaker and 240-volt wiring. That’s a meaningful electrical load, and the installation scope goes well beyond mounting the unit on a wall.
Every Tesla charging installation we complete includes a panel assessment to confirm your existing service has available capacity for a new 60-amp circuit. If it doesn’t, we handle the panel upgrade as part of the same project. We also manage permit applications and coordinate inspections with the local authority having jurisdiction in Bexar County, so you don’t have to track that process yourself.
Our installation scope includes:
Dedicated 240-volt circuit installation with proper breaker sizing and code-compliant wiring
Panel assessment to confirm available amperage before work begins
Panel upgrades handled in-house when needed to support the Wall Connector’s power draw
Wall mounting and final connection of the Tesla Wall Connector
Permit applications and inspection coordination with Bexar County authorities

For a limited time, we’re offering $125 off a Level 2 installation. Call (210) 981-6868 or request an estimate online to get started. We confirm pricing upfront before any work begins, and same-day appointments are available when scheduling allows.
What to Expect During Your Tesla Charger Installation
The process starts with an on-site visit. Our technicians assess your electrical panel, measure the distance between the panel and your planned charger location, and confirm placement. San Antonio’s heat is a real factor in that evaluation: enclosed garages need adequate ventilation, and outdoor installations require weatherproofing suited to South Texas conditions. We account for both before recommending a final location.
Once the design is confirmed and pricing is agreed upon, we handle permit applications and schedule installation after approvals are in place. On installation day, the team arrives with the agreed-upon equipment, protects your work areas, installs the dedicated circuit, mounts the Wall Connector, and tests everything before leaving. Before we close out the job, a technician can walk you through how the charger operates. We bring our own cleaning equipment and leave the worksite spotless.
Operations Manager Genaro Salinas coordinates every project to keep work on schedule and in strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations. Apprentices on our team complete formal electrical schooling alongside hands-on job training, so the people working in your home are prepared for every phase of the installation.

Tesla Wall Connector: Level 2 Charging at Home
The Tesla Wall Connector is a Level 2 charger purpose-built for Tesla vehicles. Tesla states it can add up to approximately 44 miles of range per hour, though actual results vary by vehicle model and configuration. A standard Level 1 household outlet delivers roughly 3 miles of range per hour, which isn’t a realistic daily charging solution for most drivers.
The Wall Connector is rated for both indoor and outdoor installation and carries a weatherproof rating suited to San Antonio’s climate. It connects to Wi-Fi and integrates with the Tesla mobile app, letting owners schedule charging sessions, monitor progress, and set charging limits remotely. For households with two Tesla vehicles, the Wall Connector supports Power Sharing, a load-balancing feature that lets multiple units intelligently divide available power without requiring a full dedicated circuit for each charger.
Electrical Panel Requirements for a Tesla Wall Connector
A Tesla Wall Connector running at full speed draws up to 48 amps continuously on a 60-amp dedicated circuit. Many older San Antonio homes were built with 100-amp service panels that may not have available capacity for a new 60-amp circuit without an upgrade. Our panel assessments confirm available amperage before installation begins, so there are no surprises mid-project.
South Texas heat adds another layer of complexity. High ambient temperatures in attics and garages can affect the load capacity of existing wiring, and our licensed electricians evaluate that as part of the initial assessment. Homeowners planning to add solar panels or battery storage in the future also benefit from sizing the panel and wiring during the Tesla charger installation, avoiding redundant work when those systems are added later.
Permits, CPS Energy, & San Antonio Incentives
Most residential Tesla Wall Connector installations in San Antonio require an electrical permit from the local authority having jurisdiction. Absolute Power Electrical Contractors manages that process from application through inspection, so you don’t have to coordinate with the city separately.
CPS Energy offers its FlexEV Off-Peak Rewards program for San Antonio homeowners who charge during off-peak hours. The program currently provides a one-time $50 bill credit upon enrollment, plus a $10 monthly credit for limiting peak-hour charging (Monday through Friday, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.) to no more than twice per month. Program terms and credit amounts can change, so it’s worth verifying current details directly with CPS Energy before installation.
The federal 30C tax credit may apply to qualifying home EV charger installations depending on individual eligibility. A tax professional should confirm whether your installation qualifies and what documentation is needed before work begins. We don’t provide tax or financial advice, but we can supply the documentation our customers typically need to support a credit claim.

They told us what they were going to do step by step and ask us if there were any questions. Not only did they do a great job but they also vacuumed and swept the floors when they were done.

They were on time, professional and no pressure in the estimation of work I asked about. They are also working an estimate for our kitchen for lighting as we take on an additional project very soon.
